Thursday Write Night (Formerly Words and Wine)
Thursday Write Night provides a welcoming space for writers to immerse themselves in their craft, connect with fellow wordsmiths, and partake in practise-based discussions led by the esteemed hosts. Held on the first and third Thursday of every month, Thursday Write Night is for writers at any and all stages of the writing journey. Whether you feel like scribbling in a diary, plugging away at a novel or script, have an essay to get done, or just want to get some fresh ideas to start something new, Thursday Write Night is the perfect way to dig into the work and enjoy a relaxed environment while you do.
After the official gathering wraps up at 9.30pm, writers are encouraged to socialise over a drink at one of Carlton’s many wine bars.
Cost: $15 (+GST) – includes tea and coffee

Screenwriters Club
Screenwriters Club is a chance for professional screenwriters and casual mover-goers alike to come together and watch a new release at Nova Cinema before going around the corner to Story Studios Australia to enjoy some refreshments and share our thoughts, with the movie choice usually announced two weeks before the event. It’s a lot of fun, very laid back, you get to meet some awesome people, and of course, talk movies!
And in February we’ll be watching Poor Things.
Cost: $25 (+GST) – movie ticket included
When: The first Monday of each month, 7:00pm-10pm (roughly)

Write In Thursdays
On the second and fourth Thursday of each month (excluding school holidays), Story Studios Australia opens their doors for anyone who wants a place to get some work done.
This is all about providing accountability and time for your writing. We’ll supply the ambience, some low key tunes, tea and coffee, and a place to write, so all you have to worry about is getting the words down.
Whatever you’re writing, drafting or planning, Write in Thursdays is the perfect way to make the time for it and enjoy the relaxed environment of this studio while you do – while also connecting with its wonderful community of Melbourne-based writers.
